![]() I think the GB will probably hit enough tiers for me to grab Sampletank 4,is it better than Sampletank 3? Is it worth the precious SSD space if someone already has about 8 terabytes of samples for Kontakt (primarily)……………. I hated the Sampletank 3 update to the point that I trashed and deleted everything Sampletank related several years ago and didn’t even bother looking at ST4 until this very moment. It was my choice soft sampler before Kontakt in my mind took over. One question I have for Sampletank users,I used Sampletank heavily back in the day,Sampletank 1 & 2. This GB will be fully utilized & much appreciated here. ![]() Well for a change I’m quite happy that I skipped the Group Buy IK had last year & held off upgrading to Amplitube 5 the last several months. Performance is generally good, but combining large sample instruments can cause trouble.įor an all-round multitimbral software instrument, I think SampleTank 4 is a great choice. There is a lot of great sounds to discover here.Ĭrashes are rare, but can occur when switching too quickly between instruments based on large samples. Very powerful and flexible stuff.Īs for the sounds, highlights include strings, pianos, EP’s, organs, wood winds, vocals and synths. I have also bought Syntronik by IK Multimedia, as these sounds can be loaded and played in ST4. ST4 can run as a stand alone application, so there is no need for a VSTi host, which makes it even easier to run. The synth workstation-like interface, makes it very easy to set up sounds, combine them in all kinds of splits and layers and switch between them using MIDI program changes from my keyboards. That is, as a multitimbral instrument that provides additional sounds to my hardware keyboards. I am using ST4 very much as a rack synth. For me, SampleTank 4 has been a great, simple and low risk way to incorporate many more sounds into my live rig.
